North Haven Community Association is represented on Calgary City Council by Ward 4 Councillor, Sean Chu. Our Association’s Board is in support of your oversight decision to review the Calgary Police Commission’s review of Chu’s case.

Our directors and volunteers abide by our Abuse Prevention Protocol. As per this policy, we believe in offering a safe and harassment free Community Association. In light of his continued actions, we feel Councillor Sean Chu should not attend or participate in our community events or meetings. This behavior is not representative of, or welcome at, events or meetings hosted by the North Haven Community Association.

Our actions align with your statement: “Elected representatives at all levels need to conduct themselves in all matters with the highest standards of integrity and ethical behaviour.”

We expect that the conclusion of your review will ensure that Councillor Chu is held accountable for his actions. His actions, both recent and past, have consistently demonstrated an abuse of power that is in direct conflict with the standards of integrity and ethical behavior that is expected of our elected government officials.
